The Metro Denver Homeless Initiative (MDHI) coordinates and supports the Metro Denver Continuum of Care (CoC), a multi-agency collaboration focused on ending homelessness in the seven-county Denver metropolitan area (Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson counties). The CoC brings together public and private organizations to provide an array of homelessness prevention services, housing placement assistance, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing for persons who are experiencing homelessness or at risk.
MDHI leads the process for the annual HUD CoC NOFA application. Each year MDHI convenes a series of meetings for stakeholders to identify local service gaps and funding priorities. Identified priorities are used to develop a comprehensive application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Since its inception, MDHI has brought in over $100 million in grants for the Denver metropolitan area.
