I produced this white paper to shed light on an historic error in the treatment of aboriginal Australians by Western academics and cultural commentators. Aboriginal Australians had been made a fetish by Western thinkers. They had been labeled as somehow more "primitive" and less able to adapt to the monumental clash with modernity faced by hundreds of cultures in, particularly, the 19th and 20th, and continuing into the 21st century.
Through sound basic research into the literature, however, I show that they - like so many other aboriginal cultures - have responded to existential crises as all other native cultures have: with ingenious and subtle adaptations aimed at the survival and success of their peoples.
